Monthly Teaching Corps Meetings:
Once a month, we bring together mindfulness trainers from across the DC area to build community, share best practices in mindfulness teaching, discuss and experiment with new curricula and pedagogies for teaching mindfulness, and welcome new members. This is a great opportunity to meet new people, learn new tricks, and get constructive feedback on your teaching methods!
All Minds affiliated trainers must attend at least one Monthly Teaching Corps Meeting. We will have a schedule of upcoming meetings and summaries of past meetings available soon.
Once a month, we hold face-to-face interviews with prospective new additions to our Teaching Corps. This gives us a chance to connect personally with you, understand better your motivation and qualification for teaching, and help you determine if Minds would be a good fit for your skills and interests. If you have already attended at least one Teaching Corps meeting, please contact us to schedule your personal interview.
Classroom observation and Evaluation:
After registering your credentials, completing a background check, and attending our teaching corps meeting, you’re ready to try things out in the classroom! First, you will shadowing one of our lead trainers in an actual classroom and, then, when you feel ready, lead a classroom yourself while one of our lead trainers evaluates you. When both you and our lead trainer feel you are ready, we will approve you for membership in the Minds Teaching Corps and you begin looking for school placements for you.
