Jesse is Minds’ Founder and Chairman of the Board. Jesse grew up on small farm outside of Toledo, Ohio and has resided in Washington, D.C. since early 2009. He holds BAs in Economics and International Relations from Stanford University and a Master’s in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard University. Over the past 10 years, Jesse has studied, lived, or worked in Spain, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. He has worked as a health community health educator with at-risk youth and drug users, managed several youth-centric nonprofits, and helped several others start-up and launch successfully. In 2011, Jesse left his job at the World Bank to serve as the first Executive Director for Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme). Jesse began exploring contemplative practices as a teenager and has been practicing meditation and yoga for the past five years. He recently recovered from an illness that left him hospitalized for most of 2011. He and his wife Oana joyfully welcomed their first son, Sasha, in early November 2015.
