Torie’s work focuses on internal, formative research as well as on qualitative research methods. She has over a decade of experience in education research, working at SRI Education’s Center for Technology in Learning. She has also worked and volunteered as an educator in a variety of settings, including a public school in rural Costa Rica and several afterschool and supplemental education programs. Torie holds a Master’s degree in Education from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Williams College. She has recently pursued training in teaching mindfulness to children, and facilitates monthly groups for parents who want to incorporate mindfulness into their lives. Torie began practicing mindfulness as a stressed-out working parent of two young children, and has found the practice has myriad benefits for her and her family.
